Sega Lindbergh Yellow/After Burner Climax Questions
Hello Reddit Cade.
I'm looking into making a cabinet for After Burner Climax (ABC), that runs on the Sega Lindbergh Yellow hardware. This will be my first project, so I want to confirm a few things first.
- What type of Power Cable will I need?
It doesn't seem the guy selling the hardware will be supplying the Power Cable. (No contents of delivery or anything). Arcade Machines tend to be very power hungry, so I imagine some sort of heavy duty cable will be required.
- What type of I/O Board will I need?
This ties in with what game I will be running; ABC requires input from two seperate controls: A Analogue Stick w/ trigger and button and a Throttle. I've heard stories of how Arcade Machines can be lenient on what I/O Board is used, but also some of incompatibility due to hardware age and other factors. Can someone recommend a specific one?
- How can I determine what controls will be compatible?
I've heard about how controls have to be 'JAMMA' compatible to work, but I've never fully understood this term. I've tried digging around for a Stick and Throttle out of an original ABC machine, but no such luck. It seems I'll have to buy some 'off the shelf' items. Can someone provide some guidance in this area?
That's all. Thank you in advance. I'll show you the machine when it's done! :)
